Manually Install Images
(NOTE: This procedure does not install or affect Parry Sound Screen Saver Series One or Two installations)
This process is ideal if you prefer to copy selected image files to your computer's hard drive or other storage device. Note, that if you prefer to copy all images to your computer from
Series One and/or Series
Two, the CD-ROM Distribution Disk contains installation components to make this task easy and quick. Running these installation components will create a folder on your hard drive labelled 'PS_Images'. Using
Windows Explorer to manually copy image files allows you to define your own folder names or place the images in existing folders on your hard drive.
Use Windows Explorer to copy image files from CD-ROM Distribution Disk
1. Insert Parry Sound Area Screen Saver CD-ROM in CD tray.
2. Access Windows Explorer by clicking the
Start button on your screen.
Click Programs and click Windows Explorer (may be under Accessories)
Your Desktop may also contain a Windows Explorer shortcut.

3. Look in left panel (Folders) for CD-ROM labelled PSSS_Ver1_2004 (D:)
CD Drive letter is usually 'D:' but can be other [this documentation uses Drive 'E:']

Click on '+' next to CD-ROM label to expand view of folders/subdirectories.

To preview an image file, click on its respective icon displayed in the right panel.

4. To copy image file to hard drive you can...
a) Press Ctrl + C, or
b) Click Edit in the Windows Explorer Menu
Bar, then click Copy
5. Locate destination folder in Windows Explorer left panel (Folders) and click on desired folder in which image will be copied to.

Locate mouse cursor to right panel and click. Then copy image file in panel by:
a) Press Ctrl + V, or
b) Click Edit in the Windows Explorer Menu

About creating new folders
If you wish to create a new folder (for example: ParrySoundPhotos) in the root directory of your hard drive, locate and click on the hard drive label in the left panel
(Folders) of Windows
Explorer.

Then click File on Windows Explorer Menu
Bar, then click New. Click
Folder. A folder icon appears in the right panel with the highlighted label, 'New Folder'.

Type in the desired folder name (for example: ParrySoundPhotos) and then press
Enter.
About Manually Installing Complete Series of Images
(NOTE: The CD-ROM Distribution disk contains installation processes to accomplish the installation of complete series of images. The installation of images, either executed from the CD-ROM Distribution Disk or manually, does not install or affect Parry Sound Screen Saver Series One or Two installations)
1. Insert Parry Sound Area Screen Saver CD-ROM in CD tray.
2. See About creating new
folders to create a new folder
(for example: ParrySoundPhotos)
3. Using Windows Explorer, look in left panel
(Folders) for CD-ROM labelled
PSSS_Ver1_2004 (D:). CD Drive letter is usually 'D:' but can be other [this documentation uses Drive 'E:']. Click on CD-ROM label.
4. CD-ROM contents will be displayed in right panel. Click on Images folder icon.
To copy Series One and Series Two subdirectories you can...
a) Press Ctrl + C, or
b) Click Edit in the Windows Explorer Menu

5. Then in left panel (Folders) click on new folder you created (example: ParrySoundPhotos), or click on an existing folder if desired. To copy subdirectories and their contents into selected folder you can...
a) Press Ctrl + V, or
b) Click Edit in the Windows Explorer Menu

Changing View of File List in Windows Explorer
When using Windows Explorer, it is possible to change the file list view in the right panel to suit your needs. The list of files can be displayed using large icons, small icons, thumbnails, a basic list or detailed list. To make your selection, click on the
Views icon. A pop-down menu will display a list of view types from which you can make a selection by clicking on your choice.

Similarly you can also click on Views in
Windows Explorer Menu Bar and make your choice.
